Missing authorization for SYST or RFCPING

Hi,

 

We're trying to create a transport route between two of our ECC systems to move functional modules from one system to the other. However we get an error and we've found a SAP note to resolve this issue, however I don't understand how to implement this SAP note.

 

Could someone please help me with a step by step guide to implementing note 1108662,

 

Add the function group SYST to the RFC authorization. Add the function group "SYST" to the default role SAP_BC_WEBSERVICE_SERVICE_USER in the authorizations for "Cross-application Authorization Objects" in the area "Authorization Check for RFC Access" and the object "Name of RFC object to be protected" and save and activate this role. You should then execute a user comparison for this role.

Dispatcher Work process hangs

Hello Technology Experts,

 

Last 1 month I am facing a problem in our Production Server:


Please find the details about the same:

Production instance application server's dialog work process hangs indefinitely.

Users can not do anything and for everyone it hangs.

 

Our product detail:

SAP ECC.60 EHP7 Support patch 9,

Kernel 7.42 support Patch 101.

 

Analysis and Actions:

1. I have checked all the work process log files and could not find any reason for the same.

 

2. Previously, we have seen that all the work processes were waiting for the CRM Server.

Since we are not using CRM server, we have removed this CRM connection in SM59 and SMLG.

 

3. Still we are facing the same problem of Dialog work processes are getting hung Frequently (2 to 3 times per week).

4. Once we restart the complete SAP instances, then evrything works again for couple of days and again the same situation.

5.  I have sent all the Log files, Core dump, SM51/SM66, dpmon screenshots  to SAP, but they said , they could not find any reason for Dialog work process hang situation.

6. But they have recommended to go with Enq Split as per SAP note -2119669

 

Question:

1. Can anyone please let me know whether you have faced similar situation before?

2. And if in case dialog work process waits for some server or process, why all the dialog work processes are getting hung?

3. Is there any configuration in work processes where we can say that when one of the workprocess hangs, then the other process should not wait!!

4. or set the workprocess to wait for particular time, then restart the work process automatically?

 

fyi.

we will also do the Enq Split this weekend , as suggested by SAP.

 

Please let me know in case work process trace files needs to be posted for further analysis.

Data transport in SAP

Hey,

 

I hope this is the right thread to ask question about SAP systems in general.

 

I'm transfering data from a database table into an info cube.

I learned that I need to do an extraction in my data source and then start an info package and a DTP in my BW.

 

At least that's how I get my data in an info cube.

 

The part I don't get is, what does my extraction do. I read that the info package transports the data to the PSA and the DTP handles further transport in the BW. Does the extraction transport the data to my info package?

 

Sry, that's a real newbie question but I want to understand how exactly my data is transfered.

Running ERP app servers on Windows with back-end HANA database

SSL/TLS Diffie-Hellman Modulus

Hi All,

 

We are facing the above vulnerability as subject in our web dispatcher system, earlier we were having week SSL cipher suites so get rid of those vulnerabilities by maintained parameter ssl/ciphersuite.

 

But this time we are having above vulnerability on below cipher suite.

 

TLS1_CK_DHE_RSA_WITH_3DES_EDE_CBC_SHA. (DHE key exchange uses 512 bit, recommends to use 2048 bit)

 

Solution:

 

Reconfigure the service to use a unique Diffie-Hellman moduli of 2048 bits or greater.

 

 

Is there any note from sap to generate 2048 bit key exchange. I have searched in sap forum/note but unfortunately did not find anything about this vulnerability.

 

Could you please help me to fix this vulnerability. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Difference between SAP NW 7.4 ABAP and SAP ECC 6.0 EHP4 installation

Hi All,

 

We have installed SAP NW 7.4 ABAP system and expectation was to install SAP ECC 6.0 EHP4 . The system shall anyway be refreshed again using databse copy later from our preprod system which is SAP ECC 6.0 EHP4 .

 

Please let us  know if there is going to be any difference in terms of Database tables /any functionalities with we installing SAP NW 7.4 ABAP system rather than SAP ECC 6.0 EHP4. We assumed since the database shall be refreshed later so there should not be any difference . please confirm.

 

This is abit urgent . Please revert ASAP.

Dear Community,

my Users get the Error TSV_TNEW_PAGE_ALLOC_FAILED when performing several tasks or Transactions in SAP.

Our SAP System is on Windows 2008 r2 and the DB is Microsoft SQL

 

The VM has 48 GB Memory and 24 GB are assigned to the SQL Server.

The memory parameters in SAP are:

 

 

abap/heap_area_total                  6000000000

I don't want to just increase one value an causing a lack of perfomance at other circumstances.

 

I already ordered a book about SAP Performance analysis, but the Problem is to serious to wait for it.

 

Do you need any other information?

Incorrect Program output in Parallel background jobs

When I run the concurrent background jobs(more than 200 jobs) for the same program with different variants, it show incorrect output with zero value  in one of the report field. With single or few jobs it will show correct output but for more number of background jobs every time it through incorrect output for same field. Rest all fields are correct.

 

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Connection closed after (protocol) error (RC=1); Help!

Hello Experts,

There is user when he want to print from SAP he get the error  ( base in Tcode SP01): Connection closed after (protocol) error (RC=1).

He can print fom Word, Excel without any Problem.

The other users can print  from SAP without any Problem.

My SAP account can print w/out any problem in my computer or in any other computer except for this one which when I try

my SAP account also get the error.

Could you help me please Netweaver Consultant, needs help regarding Connection closed after (protocol) error(RC=1) Help!

Is there any licence implication in activating SOA Manager services (web services)

Hi all,

 

One of my client works on SAP ECC 6.0 and they planned to implement Vendor portal. They require integration with SAP with real time updates. Hence we suggested to use web services (through SOA manager services). Is there any License implication by doing so? Do they need to purchase any extra license for that?

 

Broad scope of the Project:

1. Data will be flown out of SAP to the vendor portal.

2. At some point of time data will flow in from portal to SAP and run some standard transactions to post few records.

3. Then this document number will be pushed back to the vendor portal

 

 

Kindly suggest me whether they need to go for extra license?

Rollwait times are high

Hi All,

 

SCM7 system - as OLAP system,  Dialog Average Response time is high due to high Roll-wait time contribution(25-35% of time)

 

We do not have network problem, GUI times are less.

 

System has sufficient resources in dialog work process wise.

 

What are the all areas need to be checked to conclude?

based on that, What actions need to be taken to bring down roll wait time ?

 

Your expert suggestions are needed.

IIS with SAP Web dispatcher cause UWL view loading issue

Hi Experts,

 

We are having the below set up in our environment and the UWL view(worklist and UWL configuration ) is not loading since it hits the portal hostname.

All other views are loading without any issue.

 

Browser ---> url (ep-*)-->IIS Proxy-->SAP Web dispatcher---> Portal

 

It shows the web dispatcher url when we access the worklist.

 

Is it right way to set up? If it is, what could be the possible cause for this issue?

How to delete Registry Key SAP_DBTech

Hi,

I fatally deleted too many files of my Sneak-Preview (I didn't want to do so, so let's don't discuss why or how this could happen) so that now nothing works anymore.

The attempt to reinstall stops at the same point like the attempt to delete it via UNINSTSAP.BAT:

"MDB-07057  The system is inconsistent. Registry or SAP_DBTech information is available, but software is not complete."

I tried to delete the specific Registry-Entries, but the System didn't let me to do so.

 

Is there anybody having an Idea how to tell the Installation to ignore the Entries in the Registry or how to delete the Entries in the Registry?

How to setup HTTPS logging in SAP WEB DISPATCHER

Dear Experts,

 

Could you please help me in showing how to set up HTTPS logging inbound and outbound in sap web dispatcher

 

Can we record which requests coming into the web dispatcher and going out from web dispatcher? will recorded log file shows ip addresses, the links...? Do we have to use any other tools to record this information?

 

I tried following few sap help sites and created 2 parameters, but its not helping me at all. Eventhough they are http logging parameters its not helping in recording to log http requests also. No log file is being created.

 

Parameters I created:

 

icm/HTTP/logging_0 =  PREFIX=/, LOGFILE=D:\usr\sap\BW1\W00\work\Inbound\access_log-%d-%m-%y_%h:%t:%s, SWITCHTF=day, LOGFORMAT=SAP

 

 

icm/HTTP/logging_client_0 =  PREFIX=/, LOGFILE=D:\usr\sap\BW1\W00\work\Outbound\access1_log1-%d-%m-%y_%h:%t:%s, SWITCHTF=day, LOGFORMAT=SAP

SAP Portal SERVER0 folder over 500GB

Hi All,

 

I am keep getting out of space issue in Portal. When I checked E:\usr\sap\EPQ\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0 is too big. Lot of files being generated and its size is over 500GB.
Can I delete E:\usr\sap\EPQ\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0_old2 and old1 folders?

E:\usr\sap\EPQ\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\log is over 22 GB. There is lot of dev_jrfc.20150225_200323.trc trace files under E:\usr\sap\EPQ\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0 itself. Please advise how to reduce space. What is making this folder fill-up so quickly. Please help to understand this trace files and how to reduce them. Thanks for the help. Portal 7.0 on windows/sql platform.

Authentication Issue

Hi,

I have created an ODataModel which tries to consume OData service exposed by an application hosted on SAP Netweaver Java AS. Here is what I am trying to do :

 

var oModel = new sap.ui.model.odata.ODataModel(URL, true,username,password,{},false,true,false,null,null);

oModel.read();

 

This request fails with 401 response even though username and password are correct.

How can I get this request to authenticate itself again AS java?
