Netweaver Portal upgrade without Solution Manager

Dear Experts,

I am not sure on this topic because my knowledge tells me that we need a solution manager for upgrading/patching netweaver components.

Now, I have just downloaded and installed a Portal for my own POC purposes to showcase to clients . Its currently 7.3 EHP1 SP0, I now need to upgrade it to 7.3 EHP1 latest pack or maybe at a later date 7.4

Without Solution Manager how I can achieve this ? Does SAP provide any other product or how can I download the required files for my whole portal upgrade if solution manager is not in picture.
